SHOW NOTES: MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF, LFW AW11.

MEADHAM KIRCHHOFF, one of the stand out shows this past fashion week, the impact of all the models unleashed at once out onto the wide stage, darting defiantly across the space, it was a frantic race to make connections between eyes and brain.  Even more frenzied if you have decided to record the week via sketchbook and pen.

Meadham Kirchhoff always make a point of presenting a full story, head to toe concepts parading back and forth, rarely collections with abstract space but fashion for fashion sake , which is very welcome. Fully evolved playful gestures explored but firmly based on how a woman might feel or want to feel once they have connected with a brand. The feast of styling  helped to sell the notion of heavy volume and layering mixed with vintage twists of old world fabrics and folk detailing. The colour palette pushed the darker narrative, blacks and deep reds, heavy with gathers and detailing engulfing the hints of cream and white lace.  A sense of corrupted innocence and nostalgia faced with the  “new world” frontiers and horrors that might lie ahead. Everything you want in an outfit.
