EUGENIA ALEJOS / GO FIGURE / POSTER

EUGENIA ALEJOSGO FIGURE

Two years ago I began to develop something that really connects or identifies me. It all started through loneliness on leaving my home town. I started to develop a 2D universe that I identified with. Usually I might develop the sense of an illustration in my head for hours and then performed in minutes. Each collage is made up of two things; to be balanced and visually appealing. I don’t want the art to be difficult to understand, I want people to just look at it and think, “That’s nice- it’s attractive”. I’m interested in transforming specific emotions and movements, I really want to give a positive feeling to the audience.
I love the concept of abstraction since no one knows its real meaning, but everyone has their own idea of it. It creates a situation where you can think about what is real and what is imaginary. I love the feeling of the impossible and its opposite. For me the tactility is very attractive, I want my customers to explore completely different fabric samples against each other, beyond the context of a particular garment, to explore their imagination.
Poster design by Slashstroke Magazine as part of the G0 Figure  publication that accompanies the show.
