TARA DOUGANS / GO FIGURE / POSTER
I find great value in creating things with my hands. A pencil line is very honest. It can be gritty, beautiful, basic, precise. Straight from hand to paper, it immediately establishes a personality of its own. Working with pencil is not a choice or interest, but pivotal to the way I see and communicate what is happening around me.
Although handcraftsmanship will always be a focus, I find myself increasingly hungry to explore and incorporate new mediums. I see fashion as play, illustration as flexible, digital as possibility. The more I create, the more ambitious I become – and really, my greatest challenge is time.
